Q: What is an Animal Therapist?
A: An Animal Therapist is a person who studied one or a number of different modalities
in order to help an animal. Animal Therapists are no veterinarians, so
they won't diagnose, treat or prescribe. Natural Animal Therapists work
often together with veterinarians, they use natural, chemical-free,
non-invasive ways to improve the condition of the animal.
Q: Which modalities do you offer?
A:
I offer a number of modalities and usually combine a few in one session
(e.g. massage, acupressure, and Australian Bush Flower Essences).
Q: What can an Animal Therapist do for my animal?
A:
It really depends on the condition. A reputable Animal Therapist will
always do an Initial Assessment and after that identify the best
approach.
Q: How much does it cost?
A:
Depending on the complexity of the condition, one or more different
modalities may be used. In most cases a number of sessions are
necessary. If I have to come to your place, I have to charge a travel
fee.
Q: Are there any side-effects?
A: No, all modalities are non-invasive.
Q: Can I use Conventional (Western) Medicine at the same time?
A: Absolutely! Quite often Animal Therapists work hand in hand with veterinarians.
Q: What is the difference between Complementary and Alternative Medicine?
A:
Complementary Medicine is used together with Conventional Medicine
while Alternative Medicine is used instead of Conventional Medicine.
Q: What does holistic mean?
A:
A holistic therapist looks at all aspects of a patient's well-being
(physical, emotional, social, environmental) and not just at a
particular issue.
Q: How long does it take to see effects?
A: As animals are individuals as we are, the effects can be seen immediately or only after a few sessions.
Q: My animal has a certain condition, can you help?
A: If unsure, just contact me and I will honestly tell you, if I can help or not. If not, I might refer you to someone who can.
Q: My animal shows a behaviour problem, can you help?
A:
Quite often a behavioural problem is only a sign of an imbalance. Yes,
by addressing the imbalance, an Animal Therapist can assist the animal
to get back into balance and usually the behavioural issue dissolves.
